Table Generator Tool
Sticky NoteJuly 2023 - August 2023
Brief
The environment was a makeshift command center set up inside an office building. I imagined the people there would use whatever equipment the building already had to build a workspace for everyone. We also wanted to show how big the office was, so the room would feel busy.
Approach
I built a simple table generator in a Blueprint construction script. It uses the table as a base and adds a standard office setup of monitors, a keyboard and a mouse, each at a random position and rotation within limits that keep it on the tabletop. Most tables sit far from the camera, so they didn't need every detail, and anything left unspawned stays as an Instanced Static Mesh (ISM) to save on performance. When a table needed specific edits, I could spawn its objects into the world and add more detail by hand.
